Music Theory

Looking to enhance your knowledge of music theory and aural skills? Or perhaps you are preparing for an exam that requires you to challenge your understanding of music theory?

Bridging the Gap

Throughout Alice's teaching experience it has become apparent that he jump between GCSE Music and A-Level Music is monumental.

A-level music is rigorous and requires a deeper level of understanding of many aspects of music. Many students struggle with this jump and often teachers don't have time to "bridge the gap" of knowledge and understanding for new A-Level Music Students.

GCSE Music

Alice has extensive teaching experience in teaching GCSE Music across multiple exam boards.

The GCSE music exam is a multi faceted course which requires students to engage in many aspects of music from their understanding of music theory, the way they listen to music, to their understanding of music history. Which ever exam board you or your child may be studying they all challenge students in a similar yet rigorous way.

A-Level Music

The understanding and knowledge required for A-Level music can often be overwhelming for students. It requires students to engage in music in a deeper and more sophisticated way. It examines students on their understanding and application of music theory, music history and their ability to analyse music with an understanding of why.
